About the Artist

The Sophs are a six-piece rock band I started with my friends after we all ended up in LA around the same time and realized we wanted to make something bigger than the projects we had before. We grew up on a mix of classic rock, punk, folk, and pop records, and we never really felt like we had to pick just one lane, so our music jumps around a lot stylistically but still feels like the same band. Our debut album GOLDSTAR sounds the way it felt in our heads, which was chaotic, a little theatrical, sometimes sardonic, sometimes uncomfortable, but always honest. A lot of the songs come from writing from the perspective of the worst version of myself, just to see what happens if you don’t try to make yourself look good.
