About the Artist

Outspoken pop-rocker Catey Shaw got her start underground, literally - in the New York City subways. She played a beat up ukulele for spare change until her producer, Jay Levine, scooped her up from the train platform and into the recording studio.Catey put out her sophomore release, The Brooklyn EP, in September of 2014 which included the controversial lead single "Brooklyn" Girls" that took the internet by storm. The follow up single, "Human Contact", gained much attention from Reddit as well as Billboard who named the track one of "Tomorrow's Hits".Shaw's influences span from hip-hop to disco; Billie Holiday to Bob Marley. Though channeling her well-rounded understanding of the world into pop music, Catey Shaw makes her unique voice impossible to tune-out.Aside from music, Catey is a lifelong painter. This can be seen in the artwork for all of her releases; every song on The Brooklyn EP has an accompanying original painting.
