About the Artist
Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Frances identifies as a fan above all else. Whether "stanning" Avril Lavigne, Lebron James, or Phoebe Bridgers, she has always passionately supported those who inspire her -- many of whom have been singer-songwriters. Whitney has leaned on songwriting through every stage of her life. Whether studying at university or playing professional volleyball overseas, she processed life’s ups and downs with her guitar. As soon as she retired from sports and made her way to Los Angeles, she returned home – for good – to her identity as a musician.
This fall, Whitney’s debut EP will reveal her many sides – hungry, heartbroken, hopeful – across its eight-song tracklist. Swirled with nods to Laurel Canyon’s 1970s rock stars and inspired by a lyrically-driven modern indie landscape, Whitney’s music marries together eras to create something entirely its own: soulful, honest, and universal.
