About the Artist
Hailing from the small town of Clovis, California, LA-based singer/songwriter BEL (Isabel Whelan) crafts music that resonates with a rare, timeless quality. Her work occupies a compelling intersection of indie rock, pop, and folk, distinguished by its profound honesty and meticulous attention to detail. Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Mazzy Star, BEL creates songs that feel both deeply nostalgic and refreshingly contemporary.
The UCLA graduate has spent the last few years opening for indie acts such as Cold War Kids, Boyish, Gatlin, Girlhouse, BAILEN, and The Rare Occasions. In a relatively short time span, BEL has earned accolades from SiriusXM (”Are You Okay?” was #1 on SiriusXMU), Spotify’s playlists New Music Friday, Indie Pop, All New Indie, Ultimate Indie, Undercurrents, New Pop Picks, Fresh Finds, etc. and press support from Rolling Stone, Ones To Watch, Atwood Magazine, and more across her three EPs. With new music and touring on the horizon, the evolving musician and songwriter shows no signs of slowing down.
