About the Artist

Easy Honey is a Charleston, South Carolina–based indie rock band blending singer-songwriter folk roots with a warm, nostalgic strain of East Coast surf rock. The group first took shape at The University of the South in Sewanee, where a freshman-year hang and a shared love of melody sparked a creative partnership that still defines them. That bond remains the band’s engine: there’s an ease and electricity between Selby Austin (vocals, guitar), Darby McGlone (vocals, guitar), Charlie Holt (drums, vocals), and Webster Austin (bass, vocals) that carries from the writing room to the stage.

Their latest EP, Plaid (released April 30 via Third Brother Records), captures that chemistry in its purest form. Written and recorded during a focused three-day session in a secluded, snow-covered cabin in Marble, Colorado, the five-song project feels immediate and alive. Mixed by Tony Hoffer (Beck, Phoenix, The Kooks, Air, M83), the EP expands the band’s breezy indie-pop foundation with richer textures and sharper edges. Across the record, Easy Honey pairs buoyant melodies and tight harmonies with reflective, rousing lyrics about love, longing, and the defining moments that shape early adulthood.

Like many of their heroes, Easy Honey built their reputation the old-fashioned way: on the road. Through relentless touring and sold-out club shows, they’ve cultivated a loyal following drawn to their heartfelt songwriting and high-spirited performances. Their influences stretch from classic rock and power-pop staples like Big Star and Neil Young to ‘90s alt standouts Blind Melon and modern indie craftsmen like Dr. Dog.
