Filipino-Canadian artist MICO has gone from singing in Discord servers at 16 to becoming one of alt-pop punk’s most exciting new voices. Now 23, he’s built a cult following of 1.8 million “amicos,” earned over 300 million global streams, and sold out tours across North America and Europe — all before signing to a major label. Shaped by late-2000s pop-punk influences, MICO blends nostalgic energy with modern alt-pop edge, pairing raw, confessional songwriting with an authenticity that resonates deeply with fans worldwide. His independent momentum with his EP “Internet hometown hero” secured a recording deal with Columbia Records in September 2025. MICO is currently gearing up to release his debut album “When the lights turn on” on June 26, supported by the Running From A Feeling Tour; one of the largest routes he’s embarked on to date.”
